Google Posts appear directly in your Business Profile when someone finds you. They're free, they take two minutes, and almost no contractor uses them.
What they actually do
- Signal to Google that the business is active, which supports map rankings
- Give a searcher something recent to look at, which builds confidence
- Take up more space in the search result, pushing competitors down
- Let you promote seasonal work at the exact moment people are searching for it
What to post
- A job you just finished, with a photo
- A seasonal reminder — furnace tune-ups in September, gutter cleaning in October
- A service you want more of
- A new certification, truck, or crew member
- An answer to a question you get constantly
The format that works
One clear photo from an actual job. Two or three sentences in plain language. A call-to-action button pointing at the relevant page on your website.
Don't overthink it. A phone photo from the jobsite outperforms anything designed in Canva.
How often
Once a week is plenty. Posts stay visible for about six months but the activity signal is strongest when it's recent.
Pick a day — Monday morning, before the week gets away from you — and make it routine.
This is fifteen minutes a month for a measurable ranking and conversion benefit. It's included in our Google Growth plan, but there is genuinely nothing stopping you from doing it yourself.
