What a Small Business Website Costs in Delaware

What actually drives the price of a website, what you should own, and exactly how Second Gen Digital quotes and bills — build, monthly care, and optional Google work.

This is the first question every business owner asks and the one nobody answers straight. Here's how pricing actually works, what changes it, and what we charge.

There is no honest flat number for a website, because a five-page shop site and a thirty-page contractor site with service, trade and location pages are not the same product. What we can be straight about is what drives the number and how we bill.

How we quote

The website build is a one-time custom quote. We give you that number after the discovery call, once we know how many pages the business needs and how much content has to be written from scratch. No package tiers, no range that changes when you call.

Two things are separate from that build cost, and we say so upfront:

  • Digital Care — $100/month, required with every website we build. It's a separate recurring charge on top of the one-time build, not something folded into it.
  • Google Growth — $350/month, completely optional. Google Business Profile work, monthly content and ongoing local SEO. Add it at launch, add it later, or never.

What the build includes

  • Custom design and development — new build or a redesign of what you already have
  • The copywriting: we interview you and write the pages, you review before launch
  • Service pages that name each thing you sell instead of one catch-all list
  • Mobile-first layout, speed work and an SSL certificate
  • Contact and quote paths wired to how you actually take work
  • Hosting and business email setup
  • Analytics, and a sitemap submitted to search engines at launch with indexing checked afterward

What moves the price

Three things move the number more than anything else: how many pages you need, how much content has to be written from scratch, and how much structure the search side calls for.

A single-location shop with five pages is a small project. A contractor covering three counties, with a page per service, per trade and per town, is not. Both can be the right answer — it depends on how your customers search and how far you drive.

  • Page count and depth of the service structure
  • How much copy we write versus what you already have
  • Photography: your real photos versus needing to plan a shoot
  • Bookings, quotes, payments or a CRM you want the site to hand off to
  • Migrating an existing site, its URLs, domain and email

Moving an existing website

Plenty of businesses come to us on Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy or an old WordPress install. Those platforms aren't the problem by themselves — plenty of good sites run on them. The question is whether the site is doing its job and whether anyone is maintaining it.

When we move one, we inventory the existing URLs, map redirects where needed, and plan domain and email-record changes before cutover. We check key pages, forms and email settings afterward to reduce disruption. Search rankings and uninterrupted service cannot be guaranteed through a migration — nobody controls that. We can tell you what we do to protect them and what we watch after launch.

What you should own

Your domain, your content and your site belong to your business. We manage all of it for you, and if you ever leave, you take it with you and we help with the move.

Before you sign with anyone, ask that question plainly and get a plain answer. Ask about contract length too — ours is month to month on the care plan.

Timeline

Most websites launch in about two weeks. The variable is almost never the build — it's how fast we get photos, answers and approvals back from you.

The number that matters more than the build price

What does one new customer pay you? For a roofing job it might be five figures. For a barber it's a chair filled every few weeks for years.

That's the frame to evaluate this in — not what the site costs, but what it needs to return to be worth it to your business.

Talk through your number

The fastest way to a real figure is a short consultation. We'll ask what you sell, where you work and what you already have, then quote the build and tell you exactly what the monthly side looks like.

More detail on what each piece covers is on the Website Launch, Digital Care and Google Growth service pages.
